Description

MILD/MODERATE SPECIAL ED AIDE @ TIMPANOGOS MIDDLE SCHOOL, 27 HOURS/WEEK

Work with children to provide intervention and/or instructional or supervisory services to foster emotional and educational development. Follow program plan as developed by supervisor. Incumbents in this classification may perform their work in classrooms or in non-classroom areas.

• Aides work in preschool, primary and secondary educational settings, and many teacher assistants work extensively with special education students.

• Aides should enjoy working with children from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and be able to handle classroom situations with fairness and patience.

• All aides must demonstrate initiative and a willingness to follow directions.

• Aides must have good communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with students and teachers.
