Requirements
General Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; current CDL (we provide on-site training) and evidence of insurability; knowledge of safe driving practices and procedures as well as pertinent codes, policies, regulations and/or laws relating to operating a school bus. Must have the following abilities: coping with stressful situations related to pupils, including disabled pupils; maintaining confidentiality; exercising good judgment; and communicating with diverse groups. Must present a positive image when representing the district.
 
Bus drivers must be able to successfully complete all Utah State Office of Education School Bus Driver assessments.

Pre-employment Testing: Offers of employment are contingent on satisfactory results for a pre-employment physical abilities test, DOT physical examination, and both a DOT drug test and a district safety sensitive drug test.
 
 
 
Description
BUS DRIVER 25 HOURS/CUSTODIAN 15 HOURS, FULL TIME W/ BENEFITS

Description: Bus Drivers are responsible for safely transporting students over scheduled routes. Bus Drivers may also transport students to/from special excursions, such as field trips and activity trips. They are also responsible to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
 
 
BASIC FUNCTION
Job Description includes but not limited to:  
Building cleanliness, safety and functionality are a custodian's major concern. Daily cleaning of locker rooms, offices, pool decks and balcony. Emergency cleanups of vomit, blood or water line breaks are all the responsibility of the school custodian. Snow and ice removal, mowing, and landscape trimming are also performed by the custodian. Custodians must be trained in the safe use of cleaning products and how to manage handling blood-borne pathogens. 
 
Maintenance Duties
Maintenance of all school facilities such as the equipment, restrooms, furniture, windows, parking lot, plumbing, and lighting are the responsibility of the custodian. It is the custodian's attention to details that identifies the general needs of all the physical aspects, which the custodian or maintenance tech will then normally repair. Custodians will often be asked to help with special events. 
 
Equipment Knowledge
School custodians operate vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, buffers, snow blowers, mowers and power tools. Custodians assist with fire alarm tests, and lock-down drills. Security systems, security cameras, door locks and traffic flow patterns all involve the school custodian. Custodians must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and climb 12-foot ladders. Computer knowledge is an asset, along with the ability to read and follow instructions.
