Description |

|
DCE PA2 Special Education, 27 hours a week
BASIC FUNCTIONWork directly with and assist students who have severe physical or mental challenges. · A special education severe aide works directly with disabled students who have academic and/or behavioral challenges; a high degree of patience is a real asset. · Aides work in preschool, primary and secondary educational settings, and many teacher assistants work extensively with special education students. · Aides should enjoy working with children from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and be able to handle classroom situations with fairness and patience. · All aides must demonstrate initiative and a willingness to follow directions. · Aides must have good communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with students and teachers. |
